The Trump administration on Monday announced the creation a $1.7 billion fund to compensate allies of the Republican president who believe they were mistreated by the Biden administration Justice Department.

President Donald Trump has agreed to drop his family’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over the leak of their tax filings to the media, his lawyers said in a court filing Monday. The filing did not mention details of any settlement he may have reached with the agency.

The new fund could pay claims to the likes of Jan. 6 rioters and other purported victims of "lawfare" by previous administrations.
